You asked - I answered. While EFFY's Liquid Latex is still the best way to back your rug many of you have found that it's too liquidy (high viscosity).

Introducing a new, latex-based product that's thicker than our liquid latex. This means it's easier to work with and provides a stronger backing for your rug. Check out the attached video to see it in action.

Our new, thicker latex adhesive is non-hazardous, just like our liquid latex. However, it's important to note that it can cause skin and eye irritation, so we recommend wearing gloves when using it. Your safety is our top priority. 

Unlike our liquid latex, which has a very strong ammonia smell, this compound is almost odorless, which is a huge benefit if you are working in enclosed spaces.

Both styles of Latex-backing adhesives dry odorless.

The finish achieved with this latex is a flexible, strong rubber backing for your rug. It also initially dries slightly tacky (exactly like EFFY's Liquid Latex).This means less glue is required when folding your edges over (if this is your method - often called waterfall edges). This is because if you add 3cm of glue around your rug, the edges stick to the adhesive on the back of the rug when the adhesive is dry! This compound is also so tacky when it dries that adding a secondary backing is an absolute breeze. You will go through far fewer glue sticks and spray glue with this product.

This glue lasts 6 months after receiving it. 

While it initially dries tacky, it completely cures in around 72 hours, depending on the ambient temperature of the room where it's curing.
